App Store screenshot sizes (2026)

You only need two sizes. iPhone apps require 6.9-inch screenshots — 1320 × 2868 px portrait (2868 × 1320 landscape). iPad apps additionally require 13-inch — 2064 × 2752 px. Apple scales these to every other display automatically; all remaining sizes are optional overrides. Apple also accepts a second and third dimension inside most classes (6.9-inch takes 1290 × 2796 and 1260 × 2736 too), so an existing set at one of those is fine as-is.

The rules that apply to every screenshot

1–10 screenshots per display size, per localization. The first 3 appear in App Store search results.
JPEG or PNG only — no alpha channel or transparency. Transparent pixels cause upload rejection.
Exact pixel dimensions. App Store Connect rejects anything that isn’t precisely one of the accepted sizes for that display class.
Scaling fallbacks: if a size is missing, Apple shows a scaled version of the nearest larger size you did upload.

One 6.9-inch set covers every iPhone. Provide smaller classes only when scaled artwork needs manual correction.

Where a class lists more than one dimension, App Store Connect accepts any of them. The bold value is simply the largest, which is the one worth designing at. Apple still accepts two legacy classes as well: 4-inch (640 × 1136, or 640 × 1096 without a status bar) and 3.5-inch (640 × 960, or 640 × 920 without a status bar).

iPad screenshot sizes

Required only when your app runs on iPad. The 13-inch set is the master; everything else scales from it.

Frequently asked questions

What screenshot sizes are required for the App Store in 2026?

iPhone apps must include 6.9-inch screenshots, and App Store Connect accepts three portrait dimensions in that class: 1320×2868, 1290×2796 and 1260×2736. The 6.5-inch class (1284×2778 or 1242×2688) is the alternative. iPad apps must include 13-inch screenshots (2064×2752 or 2048×2732). Every other display size is optional, and App Store Connect scales your required set to fill the gaps.

Can I upload just one screenshot size for all iPhones?

Yes. Upload one 6.9-inch set and App Store Connect automatically scales it for every smaller iPhone display. Any of the three accepted 6.9-inch dimensions works; 1320×2868 is the largest and keeps the most detail when Apple scales it down. Dedicated 6.5-, 6.3- and 6.1-inch sets are optional and only worth making if scaled artwork looks wrong on those screens.

How many App Store screenshots can I upload?

Between 1 and 10 screenshots per localization for each display size. The first three matter most: they're what shows in App Store search results before anyone taps through to your product page.

What file formats does App Store Connect accept for screenshots?

JPEG (.jpg/.jpeg) or PNG, with no alpha channel or transparency. If your export tool writes transparent pixels, App Store Connect rejects the upload — flatten the image onto a solid background first.

Do I need separate iPad screenshots?

Only if your app runs on iPad. If it does, the 13-inch size (2064×2752 portrait or 2752×2064 landscape) is required, and older iPad sizes are scaled from it. iPhone-only apps can skip iPad screenshots entirely.

What size are Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV and Vision Pro screenshots?

Apple Watch accepts any one of six sizes: 422×514 (Ultra 3), 410×502 (Ultra 2 and Ultra), 416×496 (Series 11 and 10), 396×484 (Series 9, 8 and 7), 368×448 (Series 6, 5, 4 and SE) and 312×390 (Series 3). Mac apps need one of four 16:10 sizes: 1280×800, 1440×900, 2560×1600 or 2880×1800. Apple TV takes 1920×1080 or 3840×2160, and Apple Vision Pro takes 3840×2160.
